Stop Making Me Sound Like A Mom

Today’s listicles is an easy list! In fact I encourage all of you to do it!It’s a top 10 of things you said you’d never do!

1. Cook~True Story my mom tried for years to get me interested in cooking and baking. I told her I was either always going to work or marry rich and make enough money to either always eat out or have someone cook for me…uh huh ummm ok.

2.Never wear holes in my jeans~ I remember my grandma one time going on and on about how she didn’t understand why kids these days wore jeans with holes in them. I promptly told her,”Don’t worry grandma I would never wear holes in my jeans and look like a bum.” Yeah well my favorite pair of jeans at the  moment currently have holes in them.

3.Sound like a mother~Ok I know we’ve probably all have said this one but it still gets to me. So much that when I do sound like a mom I blame the kiddos.”Stop making me sound like a mom!”

4. Pay for coffee~What I live in the coffee state of the world???

5.Smoke~ Yup I said it. I said I would never smoke.

6.Live with other people other than my kids and significant others~Ok I think this one came back to bite me three fold!Who knew also how much I would enjoy it!

7. Be interested in finding my birthmom~ I always said my parents were enough for me and they are and always have been. However curiosity has gotten the best of me over the number of years and I would really like to find her if the opportunity arose. Not only to ask her some questions but to also thank her for doing one of the most selfless things ever!

8.Swear in front of my kids~ Sigh….guilty

9.Drive a mini van~ Yet another one that has bitten me big time. While I spent may years driving a mini van and enjoying it I now have an Escort. That is until baby arrives. We’ll finally have to stop taking two cars everywhere break down and buy not a mini van but a full sized one! Yikes!

10. Move back to Arizona after highschool~ Yet again I found myself back there 5 years ago…so glad I’m back home now!

So there you have it a list of 10 things I said I would never do! I’m off to link up and see what other people’s lists look like! Happy Monday everyone!

  1. I’m not going to lie, still not a fan of the mini-van…. It was tough enough for me to give up my truck to get a Forester…. we only had 1 kid…. and a jump seat. Sigh…. I miss my truck

  2. I am still resisting the whole minivan thing. I have been okay with a corolla, so I am trying to marry the idea that while I only have 1 kid so far, we will be okay when there are 3 in the back. I am still -naively- believing such plan 🙂

  3. Oooh, full size van? You’re going to have to come up with a cool name

  4. I’m finding I’m not alone with the minivan thing and unfortunately I’m guilty of the cursing (too much) in front of the kids.

  5. Now I can’t get that image of you driving around in a bus sized vehicle with flames painted on the sides out of my head LMAO Cussin’ rules.

  6. I am still so super excited about your great news!!
Guilty of so many of yours too.I cringe every time I pay$4 for a latte and then I spend nex tten minutes in sheer bliss.

    • yes unfortunately my taste for coffee goes away the first trimester and that hit a couple days ago so coffee does not even sound good right now! I hope it will come back soon though. Until then it’s apple cinnamon tea.

  7. HAHA “Stop making me sound like a mom!” LOVE IT.

Minivan moms unite! Except, I drive a Suburban now because the van’s too small. Woo!

  8. Loved this! I’m guilty of all of the above, in fact I even swear WHILE wearing my fave hole-in-the-knee boyfriend jeans. (-:

  9. Great list! You will totally rock the full size van thing. I see a tastefully arranged display of flames, musical notes and some animal print thrown in for good measure. 🙂
Oh and holey jeans are way better than mommy jeans so I think you are doing just fine!!

  10. I have successfully avoided the minivan — though when I have had occasion to drive a rental for extended period of time – I always like them. Good list. And the swearing thing. Guilty here too.

  11. I hated the idea of a minivan. Refused to even look at them. But Dallas convinced me…love it! Sad but true!

  12. Some things are just inevitable. There are some things I’ve not done…yet. Like drive a mini van. 🙂
